Why Shouldn't I go to a new 2006
More zoom, quieter, newer..... Why should't I get a 2006 other than the money thing and the new look? I have heard the limited slip is poor, but other than that what is the downside? Anyone?

Sticking with my 2002 till either the body rusts out around the engine,
or we get flying cars.

thats rite, REAL TRUCKS RATTLE;;;;.sure they look great and probaly drive great as well, but thier milage sucks and they look more like an suv than a truck,i may be biased but i think the second gens are the best looking trucks, especially the 2nd gen duallys,

I agree, stay away from the new truck. I just cant imagine what it is like to have a, what, $600 a month payment? Not for me. I could save all that cash in two years and do just about anything I wanted to my 2nd gen to make it look, ride and run brand new. Ill keep mine and my money.

He said "other than the money".
Besides, not too many guys are finacing 100% of a $35K truck, so the $600.00 payment talk is a waste. If you did need the whole amount your payment would be more like $800.00 per month......
I don't understand these people talking about uncomfortable seating? They are less spongy than the older ones, but that is a GOOD thing IMO.
I think you will find that 80-90% of the guys ******* the 2006's are simply jealous. Maybe scared or unable to pull the trigger on a new one, or just have nothing better to do.
This goes on and on, just like every one saying how much better the P-pumed trucks were, well, guess what, they don't build them with those anymore.
I like my new one, far better than the 2001 I had. It's apples to oranges for me, no comparison.

I hate the way a common rail motor sounds. I Cummins sounds like a 24v VP44 motor, not like how the CR does.
CR trucks don't smoke like an older truck, Dana axles, and the best looking front end out of all of them, when it's got the sport package.

Technically, I'm broke too.
As far as the sound on the new ones, I feel everyone on that tip too. Last couple of weeks when ever I am in a parking lot I can hear sweet sound of the 2nd gen comming from over a hundred yards away. I will miss the ability to tick off multiple people at once, toll booth attendants, fast food drive through kids, etc.
Overall, the money you sink into "older" trucks has somewhat equal out to the guy with new truck's payemnt woes. Hopefully, I won't have to put a dime in mine for a few straight years......
Once you get it paid off, now that is something different all together, I envy the non-payement fellas, that is for sure.
Except for the upcomming Smarty of course.

The Bully Dog programmers will make them smoke. The crazy larry will make a 600 smoke like a freight train. I seen a buddy of mine in his 03 with just a 130 hp bully dog programmer totally black out the road one day. But I agree they sound like s**t.
