Why buy an EZ when a VA is $100 less?

Just kinda wondering. I've never heard of someone selling a VA to go to an EZ, but I've seen plenty of cases of selling the EZ for a VA.

VA offers better bottom end, too.

As a rehabilitated former Edge user, (with a failed EZ), I can see me going with a VA for $400.

The VA also seems to offer more of what the MAD ECM does, except the quirkiness. I'd love to run a MAD Catcher, but I'm still hesitant based on it's manners.

I want a box with the brawn of a Marius Pudzyanovski but the refinement of James Bond.

I noticed the price difference, but more people seem to recommend the EZ over the VA. What's the beneficial diff's?

Van Aaken has a better bottom end(off the line takeoff), with same mid to top end as EZ from my experience(without hassle of having to change jumpers). I ran my Van Aaken for 5+ years with no problems. Haven't heard very many, if any, negative comments about Van Aaken chips.

I have had the Van Aaken V5 for about 9 months now
and am very happy with it. Very good bottom end "take off" power
and instant throttle response. Works well with my RV275 injectors.

When the EZ was first introduced everyone converted from the VA because the EZ makes more power. Don't know how the EZ compares to the latest VA.

Edge is working on a new box for the 2nd Gen, which is in testing and development right now.

I'll let you in on a secret. The VA smartbox R can be had for between 250-275 new on ebay almost all the time. Its the same output as the v5 but plugs in differently.

the extra c note goes to marketing... I have not run an ez but my drag comp pales in comparison to what the van aaken has on the bottom, heck I won't even sell my va just so when my drag poops out I can still play. the va is worth every penny of $400

Ebay

Hohn

I got my VA box for like $270 off ebay, brand new. It is the model that plugs into the pump(but I got spare VOID stickers). Has the boost fooler and boost elbow wth it.

I couldn't justify spending the extra on the EZ.

IMO, EZ is a waste. If your going to spend that, you can get COMPs off ebay for $500.

I had heard the EDGE stuff is unreliable. So, I went VA. If I upgraded, I would get the Comp or TST though. Maybe Blue Chip? Or stack the TST and VA maybe?

Can you give some more info on this product? Is it a comp replacement?

A quick scan of Ebay shows no VA units cheaper than $399.

Yes, it is a Comp replacement, but don't look for any additional total hp gain over the Comp. It will be an Attitude for the 24v.
