Who's installed aftermarket intercooler boots?

I need a new pass side lower boot, it's cut from rubbing on the fender. The best price I've found is $75 from Haisleys. While I'm at it, I might as well replace them all. BD Power has the whole kit for $210 but I've heard these are really hard to install. Like they're really stiff and a little short. Who's put these on and how'd the install go?

EDIT: To clarify the $75 boot from haisleys is a stock replacement for the pass lower boot. The dealer wants $180 for the same thing.

I did the Piers full set. Use to be about that price. Not too short but a real pain to get on. Very heavy duty....will be in place when the truck falls apart around them.

Thanks, I'll make sure there's no kids around when I do it

We used to put hairspray on grips to slide them on easy then it dried and glued them in place. You think that would work on these too?

Not for me...drys too fast! I used LOTS of soapy water in a spray bottle... which sticks when it drys pretty well, also.

Have heard of members having good luck heating them in the oven first. Makes sense...just never tried it.

Run a bunch of hot water into a pail and let the boots warm up for about 2-3 minutes. It will make the job much easier. I do that with sway bar bushings also.

i got the boots from source automotive.
just give them a little bit of water on the edge when you install them and they slide right on. i had no troubles with any of mine. just make sure they dont sit close to a fender or they will get a hole rubbed in them, then you will have no warranty

I was planning on trimming the fender back a half inch or so. My truck is getting really smokey, I need to do this soon.

I used wd 40 for stickers and grips on my dirtbikes.Slides on nice and just like hair spray sticks when it dries but it gives you a little more time since it dries slower than hair spray.

Just stick the boots in some boiling water for 5-10 minutes and install.... Works great!

Was popping boots regularly before installing the BD kit. No problem to install. I used not tricks to install. Just installed them and they have held great. Never blown one at all. Price was about the same as you mention.

I ran 72psi once and never popped any stockers! They saw 62-63psi daily and no troubles!! I did blow 2 HTS boots at the outlet of the top charger That made me real happy at 2AM
