Looking for a good plate cooler for my trans, tight convertors are no fun in So Cal traffic.
Anybody have a suggestion? What kinda temp drops did you see?

I have used the B&M plate, its 1.5" thick and somewhere in the area of 8"x11" I installed 2 1 for engine oil and 1 for trans on my chevy sub, 6.5LTD the trans temp on a trip to mexico on 1 grade hit 300* before we made the grade. the next year I installed the coolers and 220* was the hottest it got pulling the same load I like them. the neg. is if you have contamination get in them there hard to clean out.

I saw a guy out in Indiana last year with this little cooler that had a small electric fan that he mounted behind the bumper for his tranny and he said it worked real well. I think he said he got it from a summit racing mag. And it didn't cost a whole lot.
