Thanks truckkiller, how about installation? I read the write up TDR did on the JRE system... seemed pretty easy. I 'm running an Amsoil air filter with 1 1/2&quot; holes drilled throughout the box.

I did a little digging, and the HY35 can't be modified in this fashion. You may be able to get a custom machined back plate for a true 4&quot; exhaust bolt-up, but your gains would be so minimal, it wouldn't be worth the time and effort.<br><br>Rod

fishcop... the actual install is pretty easy. you can use most of the stock brackets for hanging. took about 20 min to take the stock one off with a sawzall and about 2 hours in my driveway to hang the new one. not too bad for the first time doing it ;D I honestly think your better off with the cold air kit from k &amp; n . i had holes drilled all over my stock airbox and it still wasnt breathing enough. the cold air kit for your 99 should run you about $150. with the heat sheild. make the kid pay for thier own books next semester and go for the exaust and air kit. ;D ;D ;D

Is there any welding that is required to install? I am asking since I don't have access to a welder anymore. 6 months ago that would not have been a problem.

 

when you get the system from Rip, you will have the option of buying bolt in for $60, or weld in for 10$. I have only done one weld in for any exhaust system, most have been bolt up, and the weld in for me was so much easier. I could mount the hangers anywhere i wanted to.

 

I've got a 4&quot; jardine bolt-on system. Excellent quality. Hardest part was getting old system off - had around 180,000 miles on the old one at that time. New system was very easy to install. I also got the 4&quot; to 5&quot; tapered stainless steel tip extension installed due to my duallies - helps to keep some of the soot off the fender.<br><br>Gene

 

Guys,<br>My local shop installs a 5&quot; system for $660. He claims it increases air flow by 350% as a 4&quot; system only increases by75%. These percentages are with an AFE air filter installed (not the price ).
