who would want this on the smarty
I talked with bob the other day and asked him if anyone had ever requested an idel up uption. He told me no so I said I'd ask around and see what people thought. Basically what it would do if even possible is after about 5 min of ideling the rpms would automatically go up to about 1250-1300. I think this would be nice for those times you run into the store and only plan on being in there for 5 min and then you end up running into someone you know and 5 min turns into 15. So what do you guys think.

Sounds like a good idea. Doesn't the cold weather high idle kick in if the temp is below a certian degree? If so this would be great for warming up the truck in weather where its too warm for the cold weather high idle but still cold enough that you want the truck warm when its sitting.

*** CAUTION ***
Do not idle the engine for excessively long periods of time. Long periods of idling (more than 10 minutes) can damage an engine because combustion chamber temperatures drop so low the fuel may not burn completely. This will cause carbon to form in the injector spray holes and on the piston rings and can result in stuck valves.

I imagine it would help the engine cool down some too, when it's this hot I have to let it idle for a while after towing and if I run it up to about 1100 rpm's the engine temp seems to drop faster. I tried to mess with the cruise control while idling the other day, to see if it would hold the rpms up, but it won't. Be another excuse for me to get a smarty.
