Both you guys come by. We can make it a cam swapping party.
The biggest hazard is dropping a tappet into the motor. Other than that, it's simple nuts, bolts and proper torque. Honestly, it is not difficult at all.

Trust me, it's not that bad.
First time I did the swap, I used some dowels from a buddy. They chrank arfter installation and just a bump dropped a tappet.
Long story short, it does come out witout too much trouble. But it is additional work.
Haven't dropped one since and now I double check everything before pulling the cam.

I agree with fishin, a cam swap isn't as bad as it sounds.
I dropped a lifter and it probably added a hour to the job (1/2hr ranting and throwing stuff in the shop then guzzle a couple beers, then after calming down another 1/2hr to fish it out) I would recommend it to anyone with a reasonable set of tools and a clean environment to work in. If you really don't feel comfortable than you will probably be better off to pay someone to do it but there's no way in h##l I would let a dealer in my area do a cam swap, most those monkeys screw up simple jobs like oil changes. I would suggest you find a good performance diesel shop in your area or arrange to take it to one if you feel you can't do it yourself. PM me if you have any questions and I will be happy to help.

I encourage you to DIY Justin, if you can do it out of the rain.
It's not hard - just tedious, if you're accustomed to trackside musclecar cam swaps!
Go to Home Depot for the materials you need to make the "tools" and take your time to enjoy the swap.

Ratsun-- how did you go about "fishing it out"? Was there a way to get your hand down to the pan or did you drop the pan and have enough room to go fishing?
If I went to see Dave, this is NOT the kind of fishing I'd have in mind
(P.S. My wife should be glad I didn't take that job in Everett, or our budget would SERIOUSLY be hurting from the influence of all those NWB types)
