Who sells the best tranny rebuild kit

Am wondering if anyone cares to share their opinions on this subject.....am looking for a rebuild so that I can start installing other performance enhancers....am looking for a full package...including billet convertor(ATS?).At what point does one need to step up the input shaft strength and so on down the line? What affect do valve bodies, extra clutches, bands, fancy levers, and shift kits have and at what power level are they needed?

Check out www.goerend.com Lots of good info. Besides, Dave is one of the best builders you'll find for these Dodge trannys.

shift kits modify the stock valve body. Valve body affects shift points and pressure (pressure as in on bands, clutches, etc). Basically, the stronger you can get parts in your tranny, the better. Why doesn't everyone have them then? 1 word: Cost...

Gotta figure out what power level you won't go over then discuss your setup with a tranny builder. Lots of options and opinions (in no particular order):

Goerend
DTT
HTS
ATS
Suncoast
Dunrite

Just to name a few. (sorry if I missed any)

Here is the link for their torque converters and such. It's under the side bar title "Deisel Products". The A-618 is pretty much the same as our 47RE. The do have complete rebuild kits also.

I see your f250 logo....Brian's Truck Shop in Lead Hill Ar. is a very stand up guy and is an encyclopedia on the E4OD tranny and performance upgrades....alas...his specialty is Ford though.

I remember coming across that site a while back. Do you have any experience with their torque converters? Seems like a good price.

My dad and I have run a TH400 or two from them in our bracket racing days. Excellent trannys. Never had any major problems. No experience with their diesel truck stuff. But I do plan onb running their stuff this next month or so when I rebuild my 47RE.

DTT does also sell a rebuild kit. (including a new front piston to get more frictions in).
