Who needs a turbo?

I don't know why it took so long to think of this , why bother reducing exhaust flow with a turbo , when we could scrap the turbo and stap this sucker on there!

I actually made a set-up like this for my 87 ranger mud runner, it worked ok at lower speeds but if running down the road, it cant handle the air that is being pushed agianst it and actually works against it! not very good Idea! fan was made to pull air through, not have it pushed by.

Ah, the $8.99 electric supercharger. Seems like if they were serious they
might include a picture and some specs on what they're actually selling.

i thought about utting a 8-71 detroit blower on the thing. then put a turbo on top of it. would be kinda like twins, but with less exhaust backpressure and more boost.

it would work. The old rule was that a supercharger will add great power (over natural) but cost economy, a turbo charger has a lag to get going but will increase economy and efficiency. For brute power, a 6-92 or 8v-71, or even a 8v-92 would get you there fast with all the torque off the line.

On my 89 5.0 mustang i rigged the AC to run into the intake. when you turned it on, it took a second, buy you could feel the power in your seet well.

a.c. what? surely the little a.c. pump wouldn't ull enough air to run the motor. my uncle was telling me that and i looked at him all crazy-like. how did you run it into the motor? did you have much boost on it? 5-10 psi? crazy stuff! if that will work, then maybe i will just pull around an ingersoll rand air compressor and hook it straight to my intake, 125 psi boost all the time!

This 8.99 thing will not work.
Even at idle the engine will consume more air than this little unit can push!

Thanks for the info, I've been looking for a cheap 12 volt vent fan for the outhouse.
