Who has a backup lift pump system for their Airdog, FASS, Raptor...etc
Who has a backup lift pump system installed in case of Airdog, FASS, Raptor failure and how do you have it set up? I am looking for the most inexpensive way to have a lift pump to switch over to when/if my Airdog ever fails again. I do not want to be left stranded when I could have a backup in place for a small amount of money and time.
I am thinking about a procomp black (Holley ripoff) mounted next to the Airdog. Would it be ok to just connect it and push through the Airdog using the existing airdog fuel supply and return lines or would it have to be more complicated?
I want to get this backup system done as soon as I get my replacement pump, otherwise it will get put on the backburner like everything else seems to (I had been thinking about doing backup system for a couple years and never got it done only to have the Airdog actually fail on me).

I have a Walbro near the Raptor back by the tank. Just need a couple tools to pull the lines off and change the wiring over to it and I'm off. I also still have the crummy Carter on the side of the block I could switch over to. It did get me home one time before but it's pretty poor. There's probably still a nice brown spot in the grass at the fairgrounds in Shelton over that one.

Make sure you at least keep spare 20 amp wide blade fuses in the truck.
I wouldn't trust any electric fuel pump 100%. At least I knew the pump was going out and wasn't too far from home when it seized up. Had to get it towed the first time my 20 amp fuse blew because I didn't have a spare wide blade with me and I was at 2 hour limit parking meter in the city (AAA came in handy that time for sure).

I carry extra fuses and I also left the original lift pump on the truck and carry the banjo bolt and stuff in the tool box i still have the little red warning installed for just that purpose too. had to use it already when my air dog started blowing fuses and i had to send it back to get a new one. I left all original equip in place I even carry an xtra filter for the airdog and orig equip

no you should not try pushing fuel through a pump that is not working, chances are it won't work. If you are going to do this you need to set it up with push lock fittings so you can quickly and cleanly swap the fuel lines from one pump to another..as well as the wiring

I have a stock LP bolted near my AD with fittings on the stock LP so that it will accept the AD 1/2 fuel lines, it would take a couple mins and some tools to swap it all over, but it is a back up for sure, my next truck will have a mechanical setup
