Where to mount trans temp sender?

I wanted to get the shop to put this on when I had the truck in for the transmission 1000mi service, but I forgot to bring the darn sender with me
Im wondering where this thing mounts and what I need to do to fool the overdrive temp sender so I dont get locked out of OD. Any of you folks got a pic of the location of this port or a good description of where to find it? Do I need to drain the oil out?

I bought the ported trans oil line from mass diesel. Its the front line on the trans going to the intercooler.

The stock sender in a '95 is in the trans output line, driver's side about a foot forward of the tranny. You can't miss it, it is the only thing with wires going to it in the area. After you unplug the stock sender jump across the wires going away from the sender with a 1000 ohm resistor. No more need for the stock sender, put it in your tool box.

Assuming your aftermaket sender has a 1/8" thread you will need a 1/8x3/8" bushing from the hardware store to fit the line. Use no teflon tape on the threads, Permatex #2 is better.

About 4 quarts of aft will drain when you remove the stock probe and just let it drain but if you have the new sender all ready to go and work fast you can finish up only losing half a cup.

Hmm, I did ask for the ported line when I had the trans done. I dont know if he remembered or not since I had the lines all replaced with the OEM's since they were rusty. Any easy way to verify if it is?

Your '95 RH tranny came with a ported line. The RH has no means for an internal temp probe like the later RE does.
If they hadn't of used a ported line your truck wouldn't go into OD because there would be no place to put the sensor.

I got the hytech.... It comes with a port, although I don't think its the most accurate I definitely think the pan is worth it - assuming you want low trans temps.
