What's a "Smarty"?

I know its been a while since I was really doing some site reading but I have noticed some talk about a Smarty. What is it? Another adjustable box for the 24v?

It's a programmer for the ECM, not just a box. Use it to program and remove it from the vehicle. Very simple to use. It has 10 programs that you can upload to your ECM, from 1/2 power to wild. It is upgradable as new programs come out you just download the upgrades into your Smarty and upload them into your truck.

Do a search.

Were you around when Marco and his Catcher ECM was all the rage?

If so, the Smarty makes your stock ECM into a Catcher, instead of having to replace the ECM.

9 different levels, with timing and without timing (for stacking with boxes that also do timing).

Ability to go back to stock in 2 minutes, should a Dealer visit be warranted,
or to pass emissions if your state is fortunate enough to test Diesels.

No need for a boost fooler, enables the Cold Weather Idle that the Dealerships have so much trouble trying to enable,
reads codes, and sets tire sizes.

I remember the Mad ECM. Was that the same as the Catcher? Hope I dont sound stupid now, its just that at the time I really wasnt needing to spend any more money on the truck and "out of sight-out of mind", right? So in turn I didnt really do much reading on them.
The Smarty sounds good, but how much does it cost? How easy is it to use and do you think its another faze thats not going to last very long? It sucks to buy something new only to find out you were one of the guinea pigs.

Ten softwares

Guys,
Smarty has TEN different moded softwares plus the stock. Not nine!
Key # 0 (zero) is also a software. Try to count from zero to nine = 10

Katoom,
lookie here : madselectronics.com
Granted, I have to do a lot of updates to the site but you should find the answers to your questions.

Marco, i have ordered a smarty from Bob, i dont see a list of the numbered choices for the smarty on your website, it would be a great help if one could see excatly what the ten choices are. also you explain #0 as half the power of stock/emmissions, do you mean it has the same power as stock but half the emmissions? thanks for all your time and effort.

He means 1/2 stock power so you can pass emmisions with a heavy fueling setup (you'd install this SW temporarily for an emmisions test).

Well, lets examine this like only DTR can.

Technically, if the 0 setting is the 1/2 setting does it count as a performance setting? I say no.
We have 9 POWER settings.

Sorry Marcos, we win.

But then again, low performance is still "performance," no?

Marco didn't tell you about the special remote self destruct feature running in your smarty Geico? All he has to do is press that blinking red button and BOOM!
J/k lmao
