Whats the part number for the Headgasket I need and do I have to mill my head

Well my head is leaking on the passenger side in the normal problem spot.I have searched and read and still dont know which head gasket to get.Maybe the marine one or what about the copper one.Can someone tell me where to order the one I need ,maybe from a site sponsor.I need the part number also.

Do I for sure need to have the head milled and can a local shop do it .

Is there a procedure online somewhere .I looked all over dodgeram.org and on google.I have done gas heads before but not a diesel.

It looks like to me ,just pull the intake, injection lines ,take the exhaust pipe loose from the turbo and the rocker arms and pushrods and headbolts and it should come out.

Id like to leave the ex manifold on it to keep from fighting it.
Thanx for any help.

You can unbolt the manifold and leave it attached to the exhast pipe the turbo and manifold will stay in place.Remove your fuel lines and injectors but you can do that after if you like.
Remove all wiring and piping don't forget the temp sender wire at the back l/h corner of the head. Remove valve covers and valve train. 2nd gens have holes with plugs in the cowl above the rear rocker arms. Remove plugs and push the push rods threw the holes this is the only way to get them out. Make sure you put the push tubes back into the holes before you put the head on or you won't get them back in. Make sure coolant is drained including the block.
Unbolt the head and remove. Find a machine shop that does diesel engines make sure they are good , the head is a high $ part to replace for a screw up. As for the head gasket you will have to get a thicker one that matches the amount plained off. I'm still wondering what gasket to use myself? I'm leaning towards a marine gasket. Good luck.....Jack

The push tubes are the push rods. You are going to have to remove the exhuast manifold to get the head surfaced. I didn't have any problem bolting it back after I removed it. I would plain the head I didn't and a few months later the gasket leaked again in the same areas as yours.
