Whats gives... haha

I have been wandering for a while what has been intermitting with my performance for some time.. sometimes ill jump on it and it'll have so much grunt it will literlly break out sideways on the highway.. but then there are times when the truck feels so underpowered that i feel like im back to stock turbo again.... iver just noticed that it has been happening more frequent......when the power has been there the truck smokes like a freakin freight train.. but when it feels weak the smoke seems to clear up quickly after take off......i was thinking i had clogged filters on my FASS system so i changed the both of them about 11k miles ago and the problem did go away.. but now it is starting to come back..... and these filters are expensive... i cut open my last set of filters and i couldnt find anything in them but a small amount of particles in the very bottom but not a lot at all... i run a fuel preassure gauge and the preassure goes back and forth between 18-20 psi but never goes lower......starting to think the injection pump is starting to finally go out..... i have been blessed because i have 187k miles on the truck and original injection pump

that is a good number of miles on the pump and could very well be the problem, I had some issues with the plug on my comp which was doin the same thing....well minus the jumping sideways on the highway.

I bet he is talking about the connections to your perfomance box, a lot of troubles can be from a bad / intermittant signal. Pop through the system with a can of electrical parts cleaner and then when dry follow up with dielectric grease.
