I've never reached the point where mine defuels!

I'm curious... why does your '96 have a 160 pump?

FWIW, if I had a 160, I wouldn't even consider the 3k, just the 4k

I think the stock springs defuel even lower that 2700,i can really tell with the 10 plate and stock springs it feels like about 2400 or less on mine.

Hey Forrest

My 96 has the 160 pump because before I got it someone had replaced the motor with a low miles 95 auto motor, the dumb tps is still on there.I need to pull that thing off and sell it.I think Ill sell the 3gsk I have and order a 4.Why do you think the 4gsk works with the small pump better,is because there isnt as much fuel .thanx

you don't have to sell your 3k... just call Piers and get the additional springs to make your 3k a 4k

the 4k works better w/ the 160 pumps because the 160 pumps defuel so early... so whereas on a 215 pump, a 3k setup will allow you to see 3300-3400 or so, on a 160 pump, you might see 2800-3000. make sense?

it gets fun up in the 2800-3500 range

94-95 = 160

96-98 auto = 180

96-97 5sp = 215

Forrest you have to make a correction to your chart.

1994-1995 auto are 160 pumps
1994-1995 manual trannies are 175 pumps

So, still not a definate answer i guess, what about a 94 manual??? I assume 160? Is that what the pump is from the factory, or is that what is is capable of? The one i am getting has been turned up already.

When you guys added a GSK kit, what kind of top end speed do you see? I have only ran mine up fast once but I got to 95 and still had fuel left (or so it felt). At that point my tach was sitting about 2300-2400. Thanks for your time.

Well with my GSK, and 160 pump with a fuel plate, mine pulls to about 3k hard, and will go to about 3300rpm's, but i need to do timing because it wants to start popping after that. If you hold it in first or something though, it will jump right to 3300rpm's. The difference in the 3k and 4k is that the 4k has 1 more small spring that goes on the inside of the springs that came with the 3k kit, and then you need the heavy duty valve springs.

Autos:
94-95: 160hp
96-98: 180hp

Manuals:
94-95: 175hp
96-98: 215hp
