What turbo is for me?
Hey how's it goin' I'm new to the site and was hoping you guys could help me with a question. I have a 98 2500 witha 12 valve, 370 marine injectors, #5 fuel plate, 5 in exhaust, open element air filter, stock turbo at 44 psi (yeah I know it's a timebomb), triple lock torque convertor, ats valvebody, suncoast rebuilt trans, and a torque convertor lock switch. I am looking to upgrade turbos. I was looking into the BD Super B single turbo, what kind of increase would I expect? Is it true that the Super B is the first half of the twin set up? Could I upgrade to twins eventually with just buying 1 more turbo? Thanks for any info

As a single, the Super B will run hot when playing hard and you will need to watch Egt's.

It has been my experience that a 5" exhaust on a lower HP truck is not helpfull and you will want to keep to the smaller exhaust housings or spooling will really suffer. The super B twins are built to use the 4" exhaust system. The HTT or Industrial injection Super Phatt 62 may be a better choice, and still usable on a twin set up.
