what turbo

ok guys i dont need the run around. truck is an everyday driver and my ATS is way to small. time to go bigger. i tow a 5k trailer maby 5 times a year so towing is not that big of a deal. but i can hit 1800 right now quick. with everything in my setup, besides the TST. (going to stick with DRAG and smarty) what turbo woudl you guys suggest. i want all out performance with the tiny ability to to 5k.

so a drag comp, smarty, hot rod pump, and 170 hp injectors? you'll be looking at a sps 64 for quick spool or a 66 for better cool

the 66 would prolly still spool ok on the auto wouldn't it???? with a stick the 66 seems like it'd be pretty laggy, but running the auto you'd prolly get along with it pretty good in everyday driving conditions, what do you think BD?????

It will run cool, but i would think that a 66 even a prostreet or sps would still spool to slow. 64 Would be the way to go unless you for all out numbers.

yeah i am kinda lookin for all out performance turbo but like i said i would also like to be able to tow my 5K trail 5 times a year as well. never tow more than 5 times a year. only for big holidays and never over 5K pounds so if i can still tow that much with a 66 without EGT problems then thats the way i want to go but if the 66 is not tow friendly, then i will look towards the 64. is it possible to tow at all with a 66?

Yea, i tow with mine, but i wouldnt try it with a auto, go with a 64 and then you can go to twins, very simple conversion. If you think your going to go to twins, go regular PS64 or HTT64, the extended tip dosent work well in a twin setup, Check with Olee, he'll set you up, if your close to Doug give him a ring

sweet thank you very much. no not really going to go with twins as i feel twins are more for towing and thats just my opinoin. you can still make HUGE HP with a large single or even a medium single and some spray. thats what i am lookin into next after this turbo is some spray so sounds like the 64 will be my ticket. thank you guys for all your help on this as i am not much of a turbo guy. i mean i know whats out there but no to knowleged on what works best for what setup. just another quick question, will the 64 be LOUD as i really love the whistle.

I've ran an sps62, ps64, and sps66. the sps66 is almost impossible to tow with and has very bad street manners, but will support huge numbers. the silver bullet was suppose to be the equivalent of the sps66 for those that tow. It's actually a 68mm compressor, but spool better and is less prone to surge.

how loud will the 64 or even the 66 be compared to a stocker? my ATS is only a little louder than a stock one and i love that whistle.

Don't know much about the pro street 66, but light towing should be just fine with the S/B. The 66 was defiantly louder then the 62 and 64

I love my Sp66, When i first put the turbo on my truck, i wasnt all that happy with it, it was a real lag pig. Since putting on the turbo i have put Mach 6 injectors in and also a cam. After the Cam, the turbo lag has been just about eliminated. It spools real nice now and the street manners have been imporved, it can be driven smoke free if desired. Just today a girl that works with my old lady wanted to see some smoke from the truck, so i said alright, I made sure the cost was clear and pulled out, from a dead stop witht he TST box on level 3 with the Edge comp on for timing, I laid down a 200ft patch of rubber. I shocked myself, i am very easy on the truck 95% of the time. Before the cam, the truck would not do a burn out like that because of the lag

sounds like the 66 can be tamed with the right setup
