What should my egts be?

What should my egts be if all that is done is stock plate all the way foreward and star wheel turned all the way. What about boost? what should it be?

Anything below 1250*. Really, you will probably run about 550-600 empty on flat ground at 60 mph. Keep an eye on it and you won't have any trouble. I can pull mine any way I want and not have to worry about the EGTs.

1250° max is ok pre-turbo 950°-1000° post.
You'll probaly max out at 20-22 boost and cruise at under 5 psi

my 96 freightliner with a 500 cat and 18 speed will run 1200 all day long post turbo.. it never had a problem in 650,000 miles. its about due for rod bearings and mains i think. but still runs like a brand new one, burns a gallon every 1000 miles or so

I do to Tom.
Was talking with a guy a few weeks ago and he kept saying his egts were too high at 950°. The guy seemed to know diesels very well and I didn't want to say his temps were just fine. Wasn't till later I realized he was post turbo.
