what should i do for trany upgrades
hey guys
i just bought this truck its a 1995 12v with a auto in it ,, has 250 000km on it it works well but i want to get better mileage so i want to do some upgrades . look hx-40. 40hp injectors ,5inch ex ,bd manifold , air intake , timing up ,and fuel plate , but would should i do to the trany ??? i am standard guy but i could not say no to tthis truck when it came up .. the trany is new but its stock so... what should i do . i want to upgrade it first before i touch the motor so i don't burn the trany up

Well, I'd get it checked out (trans) by a good shop. Find out what the line pressure is and the pressures at each port. This will help you know if it is a stock rebuild or a performance one. If the line pressure is mid 50's it is stock. Look for 75-85 for a perf. set-up. Let us know what the stall speed is also.
I doubt if injectors will help the mileage. I'd suggest--just for the driveability-- a gov spring kit.
A plate can help mileage.
That turbo I doubt it. You will need a boost elbow.
5 " exhaust is not needed. Some say bigger exhaust actually hurt mileage.
Timing will. And keeping the RPM at about 1600 is key to it also.
A good dry air filter can also, but you won't see much benefit to intake or exhaust manifold.
Most of the items I discredited are really only for power.
