What should I do???

Well I have both a valve body and triple disc tc from dave goerend sitting in my room, waiting to be installed. My truck has 268,000 miles on it and Im almost positive its not the original transmission. Im not for sure of the history of the truck but the transmission actually seems to be in pretty good shape. What im asking is, should I go ahead and install the parts i have? My plans for the truck are to get the timing set at 16* and throw some 370's in it and possibly some 191's farther along. I feel like the tc and vb would hold the power good. But since Im foolin with it right now should I go ahead and take the plunge and buy a complete transmission from dave?

with that many miles on it i would atleast open it all the way up and check the clutches and everything rebuild kits are cheap and you will have it out any way . so wouldnt hurt since its out just take you alittle longer but could save you time in the end .

So how much is a rebuild kit? Should I just get a stock rebuild or go with a heavy duty rebuild?
