at what RPM?

what RPM is safe for me to run my truck at on the highway. cruising with no load. i made the latest addition of an edge comp box.

could i run my truck lets say at 80mph all day long or even 90 if i wanted to or needed to. my RPM'S run up around the 2900's in this speed zone. i hear that i can basically run it all day like that. is that assessment true or...?

thanks for all the input

2001 CTD, dually, six spd. 4:10's, 4" exh., pyro & boost guages, stage II inj., HD clutch, pusher pump and edge comp(usually set at 3x5...getting 40lbs. @ WOT...EGT 1100)

Just drive it. Don't worry as long as the temps and pressures are fine

Yes, you can run the truck all day as fast as it will go, the engine is governed and will not over-rev. I wouldn't run over 85 for any extended period, the tires are only rated to 85 mph.

Medium duty trucks (what the Cummins was made to run in) are usually top-speed limited by the engine governor to ~65 mph. On the highway the driver's foot is on the floor the whole time, the engine is at max governed RPM the whole trip. The engines still go 300k with reasonable maintenance.
