What rims with 35" tires on your 2nd gen?

Im looking for some input on rims for my truck. If anyone has this combo and knows what backspace theyre running, Id like to hear it.
Right now I have 16.5x10 rims with 33x12.50 tires. Looking for 17" - 20" by 9 or 10 inch rims, to mount 35x12.50 tires. Truck has a 3" lift but the rims on it now dont have the right backspace so they are real close to rubbing.
I like the wider tires to help with grip in accel and braking. Id go smaller for fuel economy, but this truck seems to lock up the brakes a little too easy as it is. Need 35's to help push my cruising RPMs down a little.
Im looking for something fairly plain in an aluminum wheel, with a lot of backspace so I can eventually put ford knuckles in there. Knuckles would add an extra 3/4" per side.
This is the best one Ive found so far, for backspace and looks:

5.89" backspace on a 10" rim, dont know if thats enough for a 35x12.50 with the setup I have.. nevermind adding an extra 3/4" to the axle.

I realize this doesn't address your tire/wheel question, but when you say the brakes lock up a little too easily, that sounds like you're not getting enough rear braking action. If you haven't tried the wheel cylinder upgrade, I'd highly recommend it.

Ive got the one-ton wheel cyls and I had a shop double check the rear brakes last month when I had the trans serviced.
Ive replaced all sorts of stuff and the brakes front and rear are still crap =(
If I can get the ford knuckles on there, I get twin piston calipers out of the deal. That combined with a larger tire diameter should help a lot.

Get a set of H2's. With my EMS hubs, the tire is maybe 1/2" outside the fender. Before the hub swap, they were just inside the fender. That was with 285's, so you might get a little more tire outside the fender, but shouldn't be much.

I looked up those wheels and they have 5.6" of backspace on a 9.5" rim. Are the wheels flush with the fenders when you sight down the side of the truck?
Right now I need fender flares to cover mine to make them legal.. so if I put on some wheels with those measurements I should have some room for these ford knuckles after all.
These helo rims are 5.89" BS. I just need to measure what I have now to be sure it all lines up right.

How close are your wheels at full turn? the extra backspace might not be enough to make up for .75" of extra axle.

I'd take it to a different shop. Even if the brake system isn't the best out there, they should still be braking proportionally. Mine were locking up, and it was cheap brake shoes. Locking up is a sign that something isn't right.

Hmmm, with an extra 3/4" of axle behind those it might be a problem.
