I use the Swagelok and it is indestructable. You set it once, which is a PITA, but then works flawlessly from then on. Order it here: http://www.swagelok.com/search/produ...part=B-8CPA2-3
You have to log in, request a price, and all that stuff, but the service is pretty good. Your line is like this: Fuel tank, FF5079 fuel strainer, Walbro 392, tee off to Swagelok which returns to the return fuel line, and the other straight line goes to the fuel filter. I set mine to 21psi at the bypass to give about 14-19 after the fuel filter....

wow that little thing is $43 ...
dou you "Tee" the line right after the walbro, or would it be better to tap the inlet banjo of the vp44, so that cool fuel flows past the pump all the time?

I use it and mounted just off the battery box which has a small tab to bolt to next to the IP. I run 2 systems (veggie and diesel) with FASS on the veggie and Aeromotive on the diesel side and keeps it right at 15 psi. It has an adjustment *** on top that utilizes an Allen wrench and real easy to adjust. It does have a return line that you can Y-Block back to the return. It will keep it very steady at 15 psi which I set or was my goal.
However, I am not a big fan of the Walbro as I went through a few of them on the diesel side. I settled for an aeromotive AEI-11203 which has appx 60K miles on it. The Walbros where crashing after 30K. If the Aeromotive goies out, I'll switch to the nes FASS replacement pump. It is also relocated to the frame rail with Geno's relocation kit. But the new FASS will bolt as a replacement on the engine. Save the headache and relocate the pump at the frame rail which will be less vibration and heat saving a longer life for your LP.

That one dont look too bad either! Why would you need a regulator on that aeromotive pump? it says its 14 psi max.
How much pressure does it hold at WOT say at 500 hp?
Isnt the stock elect Powerstroke pump about the same as the walbro? tey run diesel on it... just wondering
thanks

Sorry about that, it does not need a regulator on the Aeromotive, My FASS was pushing 20+ psi and wanted to keep it at 15psi. The Aeromotive pump I had was 16 psi. I just checked Summit's web site and they did change the pump psi down to 14 psi, but the flow rate is still the same, I would speculate they changed out the motor. It is a strong pump on diesel and mine only has the Quad XZT+ which will get it up to 300+ hp. For 500HP, I would only go with the FASS , but I'm not an expert. I can't pull down a FASS under 10psi even on the veggie side pulling 10,000lbs at WOT.

I plumbed mine prior to the VP (right after the Walbro) because I don't want to overload the VP bypass system. The line just flows into a "Y" fitting that entrains the fuel back into the fuel return line. Anything over 14psi at the VP is basically waste, IMO, since it gets plumbed right back to the tank. I see probably 15-19psi at the VP. Enough to make sure the bypass is always flowing but not enough to overwhelm it. This Swagelok is small and fairly expensive, but I've had mine on for a lot of miles and it works perfectly set at 21psi. Rock solid performance. Pain in the rear to set up but you only have to do it once.

i played today all day long with it. i just CANT get it to work right!
I set it at 17 psi at the regulator, plumbed everything together, turn on the ignition, and it has the same 17 psi, but once i start the truck, it will drop to 4 psi. turning the regulator up to 22 psi, the pressure will drop to 6 psi when cranking the engine, and that while only ideling.
It seems to me like the regulator doesnt close enough to keep steady pressure once the VP demands a little fuel!
Did i install it all wrong?
Its: fuel tank - Elect Pump - "T" - Filter - VP
To the "T" i connected the 1/2" swagelok regulator which goes back to the tank
I used 3/8 hose everywhere

That setup sounds right. I put a cheap mechanical gauge from NorthernTool on it right after the "T" to check fuel pressure. Make sure the poppet valve is going in the right direction (arrow pointing to the return line). Adjust the hex bolt (nut?) on the input side of the valve and be sure to lock it down each time. Set it up, check it with the truck running, reset it higher/lower if needed. Mine comes out at 21psi pretty much all day long. The pressure shouldn't really drop there even at WOT since the Walbro is putting out much more pressure than you are using. Also check out the wiring to the Walbro and make sure it is getting all the juice it needs. Try disconnecting the fuel line after the pump and crank the engine and watch the fuel shoot into a pail or something. Here's a pic or two of my setup:
Fuel Strainer/Walbro/Swagelok
Return line to tank is at bottom
Swagelok flows top to bottom
External fuel pressure gauge
