What needs to be done to have a P-Pumped 24V?
Well within the next few years I want to buy an non 53-block 01' or 02' Dodge 2500 4x4 auto 24V but I want to ditch the VP-44 and swap in a P-7100 in its place. Can this be done for a daily driver? I know its costly but I'd like to do it and have something totally different (compared to most 24Vs).
So far I believe I'll need the following parts:
-Injection pump
-injection lines
-injectors
-timing case
-injection pump gear
Am I missing anything? I probably am so fill me in here. Is there anyone who has done this swap? Anything to look for or tips?
Thanks

Brackets and hardware, linkages, etc. The kit from Schieds or Haisley may be the better way to go instead of piecing together all the parts you need. Better yet, find an engine that went bad, and pull the front parts off of it.

I've met a couple of people with the conversion done on their DD, and said it worked great. I think most people that say it isn't good for DD, think that you have to have it turned all the way up. I've thought about this too, cause the VP44 is the biggest POS on the entire truck, but I still like the adjustability and the conversion just isn't cost effective right now.
