what makes my egt gauge act slow

I have a egt gauge that is a VDO unit and it is mouned pre turbo it seems to act slower than my last truck and thought that was maybe because of the intercoler. I can hammer it for about 10sec before it will rise in temp. Then takes a few seconds to start moving down again. My last truck the gauge was a lot faster but it had no intercoler.

It might just be the delay from the sender sending the signal to the gauge.

Other than maybe replacing the sender with a faster reading one there's not a whole lot you can do. It's just normal. I know my Dakota Digital gauge with the VDO sender was a little slow to react but my isspro and old autometer act like they're connected to the accelerator.

Talking

i would take back the sender or the whole thing, thats no good being so slow, you could be at 1300 for 10 seconds before knowing it and that 10 seconds could mean the diference between damage or not.i have a isspro and like blue said its like its conected to the accelaroator.the faster i push the go pedal the faster it goes up,like instantly. take it back
