"What HP do you want?" (From another thread)

I was asked on a previous post what Hp I expect to get from my truck! Well...HP numbers don't mean anything to me. I'm new to diesels but I know that Diesel HP numbers are different than Gasoline HP numbers.

What are some comparisons with HP...example:
(Feel free to add what you have and can do with it)

[important information to me]
### is what you can expect with Injectors, timing, exhaust, fuel plate
### is what you can expect with the above + average Turbo upgrade

[Fill in and add your own]
>250 will toast (Blank),
>### will toast Gasoline fuel injected V8 2wd trucks
>### will toast most Ford Power Strokes
>### will toast Ford Lighting
>### Will toast stock Mustang
(They are all Fords but I'm thinking of particular owners I would love to beat)
>### will toast Riceburners,
(Feel free to add your own)
Please be as realistic as possible b/c I will be basing my thoughts off of this and I know how some can stretch it like"My truck can....(fill in the blank)" (Toast a C6 vett, beat a crotch rocket, skip across a lake its so fast!)

After knowing those numbers I have one last question. I need to know what HP range can you shoot for and not loose efficiency (mainly mpg) a priority for me!

My priorities are ...
Fix steering and KDP first!
Gauges
then HP hopup, but I am always planning. It would be easier if I knew what is feasible
After I know what I am shooting for I will get a clutch with room to spare!

I look forward to ya'lls reply!

You dont ask for much do ya. I think just some minor upgrades to get you to 700hp should do the trick.

Point taken.
I guess I didn't make myself clear...I wasn't trying to accomplish those things...I just wanted to know what HP it took...That way I have a comparison of "real world" (if you can call it that) to real numbers.

I if I say I want 300hp....I don't know that may be large or may be small! and it may not do what I want it to.

I got friends with trucks...I don't know their numbers but I know what they can accomplish so if you tell me numbers compared to what they accomplish I can answer the question ....What HP do I want to get. My list was examples...I would like to know what ya'll can do with your HP numbers?

Thanks for replying and I hope this clears it up a little?

With the mods I had when I dyno'd I could sit side by side with a new hemi truck in a 40-110 mph roll on. That won't happen again =P With my current mods I can break all four rears loose on dry pavement from a roll.

You can see my mods, and what I last ran at the drag strip. I feel like I can run high 14's now. My truck isnt what some would consider fast, but it will beat most things I come up against on the street. I figure im making 330hp/750tq or something close to that.

Call me a liar cause I didn't believe it but my current setup kept me a half car length in front of an LS1 SS Camaro until my clutch let loose in 4th. It really does come down to both drivers abilities too. Just wish I could get a clutch so I could dyno and run it at the track to have proof.
