ARP makes an excellent stud. Around the $425 mark for the 12mm variety. Im running compounds with them with o-rings and a marine headgasket (.010) and no problems yet!

Cool, I was thinking ARP. How much do you think it would cost for the marine gasket and haveing the O-ring thing done?

I just bought a marine gasket from cummins, I think it was around $87. O-rings seem to be around $300, depending on the shop, to do the machine work and install the wire.

ARP, anywhere from $400-425

They will be fine with O-rings for twins...if you don't o ring it, keep it under 55psi!

BigBully also you will have to clearance the valve covers with the ARP studs. Not a big deal, just don't forget to check the clearance.....

Does anybody have the ARP part number? Can anyone recommend a good machine shop near Raleigh for the o-rings?

I just got a newer set or ARP studs from Doug over at PDW and it has you machine the rocker arm pedestal, I'm not completely sure if that is the reason or not.

Ok so what is the head gasket should i use? I called cummins and they say there is only one head gasket for this engine and I told them you guys say there is a marine head gasket. I seen there is three different part numbers for stock to 0.20 over But Which one should I use? I seen one guy say he used a 0.10 over But i was wondering why the 0.10 over?
