What fuel system do you run for your mods?
I want to upgrade my fuel system before making a bunch of mods that could kill my VP44. Which fuel system should I go with? My truck wont have over 400hp, so I dont want anything I dont need. Ive tried researching myself but Im new to this diesels. What would be a good set up for me? And who or where should I purchase it from?

I run a Holley Blue for 120 bucks plus a Vulcan Performance big line relocation kit 120 bucks as well. I just used the longer wire harness supplied by Vulcan and I mounted the Holley Blue down on the frame near the T case. Idles at 16psi, never goes below 13 psi with my mods set on kill. I'm in the neighborhood of 400 HP. When this pump dies in a couple years, I'll buy another for 120 bucks and be good to go with just ten minutes to switch out a pump. FYI, I removed my stock lift pump and just run the big line straight to the stock filter. And like I previously stated, I run the Holley Blue off the factory wiring harness with a small extension that was supplied with my big line relocation kit.

Several would work IMO. Bully Dog big fuel kit has Lines Holley Blue hose the whole thing. Glacier has good set up as well. Fass is one of the most popular and effective, more cost though. Or you do like Big Blue24 and improvise a kit yourself. If you have some big power I would suggest a fuel boss from glacier, unlike the others the pressure goes up as the rpms do. It is ran from the harmonic pully an cranks alot of pressure out. Just some suggestions. All work like there supposed to, some just more expensive than others.

The best way to get an idea of what it looks like stock is to buy a manual. For 20 bucks, I think that it is wise to own a manual for every car that you own and plan to work on if needs be. That said, if you are standing at the bumper and looking at the fuel filter canister with the little yellow lever, the stock lift pump is left of that about six inches mounted directly to the engine with a metal bracket back near the fire wall. If still lost, follow the fuel lines running from the filter, one goes to the injection pump, one goes to the stock lift pump. If by some chance your stocker failed while still under warranty, there is a chance that they replaced it with an intank pump. With the relocation big line kit, you get enough tubing to run from the tank to the filter canister and put the lift pump where ever you want it in the line. I chose down on the frame near the transfer case since it was the most easily accesible place for me. I then reached up on the top of the tank and pulled off the stock line from the plastic snap barb on the top of the tank and hose clamped my big line to that. I then hooked up lines to Holley Blue that I bought at Auto Zone, removed flat head screw on bottom, removed spring, stretched spring, replaced spring and screw, then finished tightening up the whole system. I unbolted the stock lift pump and unplugged wiring harness, then plugged in my kit supplied extender and ran wire to my holley blue. I also replaced the bolts that held the stock lift pump in place since they are actually intake manifold bolts and without them, gasket is sure to leak and fully fail. I then replaced the stock line between fuel filter and injection pump with new line and fittings supplied with the kit and then called her good. Bumped my starter twice to let the lift pump cycle and push air out of the system and finally fired it up. Took about four hours, if you are not too handy, I would give myself at least 6. Good luck!

I've been using a Carter 4601HP from Summit since Sept. '04 mounted on the frame in front of the fuel tank and a Vulcan Big Line kit with straight through fittings...9.5 psi WOT with my mods.
I also use a fuel treatment with every fueling and fill slow to avoid trash & water.
