What first?

I have a stock 2001 3500 with a 5sp manual. I would like to do some mods but do not know where to start. I plan on getting a quad adrenaline w/pulse or a egde juice w/attitude so I will have guages. However should I upgrade my lift pump before I do anything so I will not wreck the VP44?

You could start with a lift pump upgrade. Then exhaust, intake, some kind of performance air filter, tuner.

Yes, lift pump upgrade, then gauges...especially a fuel psi gauge. Keep the VP cool and happy w/at least 10psi and you'll be ok.

I agree, Get a FASS or AirDog. A 150 GPH would be the best. So as to not have to upgrade down the line when you have more fuel mods.

Then you could throw on the quad or Juice and have the gauges from that. About the same time .. intake and exhaust would help with better air flow, and sound!

Then just read up. Prob Tans upgrade next. So you can really get the full use of a chip/pogrammer.

Your very first upgrade should be the clutch, then the Adrenaline. It WILL take out your clutch and any other weak link in your drive system. Then the fuel delivery, but not an essential primary upgrade.

I still think gauges and lift pump should come first.
Then I would definitely agree that the clutch should come before the performance mods, or someone might be without a driveable truck...
Most don't seem to do it that way though...

Upgrade the fuel system first!
That's a no brainer. Our crappy stock LP's are notorious for failing then taking out the IP.
Then do what ever you have the funds for.
