what do yall think about these ebay headlights?

ive read previous threads about guys trying these out with overall success. i believe ITEM 2 is the same as was stated in another poster's thread. since reading that, i have been watching ebay and now, finally, the poster's particular brand popped back up. but i also noticed ITEM 1. looks identical except that it has two turn signal bulb locations. anyone else have these or know anything about them?

ITEM 1 - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-01...spagenameZWDVW

ITEM 2 - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-01...spagenameZWDVW

i would be using these in conjuction with an lmc harness...
http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/de/full.asp?page=20

what is everyone's suggestions for bulbs? also on a side note, whats the deal with projectors? seems like ive read that they arent as desirable. something about they are hard to aim or they dont hold the position...

thanks,

jeremy

I have the first set in my truck, (the second set looks the same) the fit around the fender opening isn't the best but I was able to adjust some...I have the LMC harness too...can't beat the light!!!

Be careful with the LMC Harness---mine was DOA and when I called to get another they told me that it is common and just to throw it away no need to return it. I decided to keep the OEM one.

so i take it the lights and all were well worth it? besides the fitament, you dont have any leaks or any other problem like that with those lights?

boss - im not sure i follow what you said. so the lmc harness was messed up upon arrival to you and when you called to get another, you ended up just reusing the stock harness???

thanks,

jeremy

Yes I did just re-use the stock harness because the LMC ones have a known issue of bad relays or just incompatibility with the computer on some vehicles --- this was per LMC.

The one that looks like it has two turn signal holes doesn't. It is just the reflection.

I still don't understand the point of messing with cheap Chinese ebay headlights vs adding on quality aftermarket lights like Hella, PIAA, or Lightforce.

cause aftermarket lights like PIAA and Hella are illegal to use on the road (unless they make some sort of headlight replacement thats DOT approved that i dont know about) and they blind the **** out of oncoming drivers. trust me, i had a jeep with 6 of them. it was crazy bright but I never could turn them on when i was on the road cause it would blind people.

I have ebay lights on my 2500, not sure if theyre the same as the ones you posted but they look the same. Didnt have any problems fitment or anything. The lighting is much better than it was before but the pattern it scatters the light is a little weird. They make the truck look good too.

oh i know. i have run hellas on my jeeps and my current rock buggy. but like said, using them on the road is not good for oncomers. and i really dont want to have to add lights to do the job my headlights should be doing in the first place. that and my stock housings are disgusting looking. they have condensation and the yellowish color. they need replacing anyways so id like to put something that performs better in place.

so what bulbs are good to put in these lights?

thanks,

jeremy

just instaled these but with the smoked out look and not the whole chrome housing and they are very sturdy lights and aimed eazy. they throw the light out there soooo much better its not funny. i also put a hid conversion in the truck with those lights and its great spent a total of 200 bucks and now i have better lightsing that i could dream of. ill get some pics up soon.

Thats no different than cheap ebay headlights. If they were DOT approved, they would certainly mention that in the auction. And they are just as bad at blinding, as without DOT approval id be pretty sure they did not undergo safety testing. Car headlights should not burn your retnas. And without DOT approval, that makes these "illegal" to use on the road as well.

There are no shortage of DOT approved lights if a person is willing to look.

I'm currently explorer a retrofit using a DOT approved headlight "module" made by Hella.

Something like this:

I can assure you that these lights are no where near as bright or as focused as hella or PIAA spods. Also, if a cop sees the extra off-road lights on, he knows its not legal but if they see a truck driving down the road with stock looking lights, they will be less-likely to ask questions. The ebay lights are the same wattage rating as the stock lights, the only difference is a clear lens, which makes a huge difference over the stock lights.
