What to do next? (Mod-wise)

Ok, after taking on a new and back-breaking job, I'm finally making some decent $ and need to MOD THE TRUCK!!

I was planning on just getting an EZ, then upgrading to some Mach 1's or 1.5's after a new clutch. The inijectors and clutch won't come until after August, after our busy season at work. During that season, I will be pulling a 10' trailer maxing around 4k pounds.

A few beers later with a few buds, I'm debating to go ahead and get a Comp instead, and not tap the wire til after the clutch. Should I get the Comp instead of the EZ, taking into account my future mod plans? I know the Comp will act just like the EZ until the wire is tapped, but I will enjoy the Comp more than the EZ after my future plans are finished?

If I do go with the more agressive box, should I look at a different box such as a TSTpm3? I just need to hear what yall think before I make up my mind. Thanks for any help guys.

What HP are you shooting for? Anything over 325-350 and I would start with a new clutch. Not glamorous but wise, unless you want to spend more latter on.

I'm not sure what HP I'm shooting for. I doubt that I will be looking for 350, but I doubt the bug will be outta my system when my future plans are finished!! Just enough to make my driver seat have some wear in it, for now!! I don't wanna over do it, plus after August, I won't be pulling anything worth mentioning. Right now, my clutch feels as it did when I first bought the truck, brand new. I just wanna feel some of the power that you other "modded" guys are feeling.

Have always heard HO's respond better to injectors than to boxes. That's a good place to start - EDM 2's? or a TST adjustable PM3 for varying levels of HP - or both. I would stay away from the Edge heavy timing with the HO...JMHO.

RJ, I have heard that also. Thats why I'm asking before I'm buying. I was also wondering if I should do injectors 1st, then box, or stick w/ my orignal plan?? Yall just inform me before my clicking finger finds the "checkout" icon on a few diesel sites!!

Im not an expert on this mods, Im actually quite new, but I heard that the first upgrades you should have after gauges are exhaust and intake. Is this true?

True above a certain HP level - probably 250 or275 hp. Makes sense to me to get it out of the way early and to establish Base Line figures (on your gauges) from which you can measure changes from later add ons. I did it that way and found the increases in temps/boost from each mod to be very interesting and educational; but I knew from the start I was headed for 400+ hp.

Others may not be headed that far or be on tighter budgets and want to see some HP increase for their money spent. Different strokes for different folks!

I think it would be wise to address the fuel delivery issues with a max flow or one of the other systems. I use a comp as an ez and so far so good with my clutch. I plan on getting some mach 2's in the future after a south bend goes in.
