What did I mess up? AFC related
When I put my turbo on, I attempted to pull the afc housing and throw my home ground 100 plate in. I had all the bolts out, lifted it up, but couldn't get it to come off. I had the housing off in June to slide the plate a little, and had no problems.
Ever since then, the truck has been super hard to start, and doesn't have anything for power up to about 1800 rpm. Obviously the B-1 is not as quick to spool as the stocker, but that's not what I'm getting at. With the starwheel cranked as far forward as I could get it with a screwdriver, I should have thick smoke from just off idle til the charger lights, correct? I have nothing until roughly 1400. I can mat the accelerator in neutral, and it will slowly raise the rpm, then about 1500 rocket up to redline. I have no idea what happened, but I'm confident that me not getting the housing off and then just bolting it back on is the cause. Any tips appreciated.

I don't know why you can't get your AFC off, but as far as being a dog, that might be just an adjustment of the AFC. Here's what I found out with mine. Way back, when I first put my plate in I didn't have the AFC slid far enough forward and my truck would barley get out of the driveway. Since then I have slide it forward and adjusted the smoke adjust screw in about 4 turns from just touching the diaphragm and that really woke my truck up. Until I made this change it acted like yours, it was almost like a power band on a 2 stroke motocycle it would come in at about 1400 rpm.

So you had the whole housing moved back? I lined mine up with a scribe mark that was there when I first took it off. It wasn't a scribe on the plate, it was the housing and pump. I need to play with it some more and figure it out.

depends what performance you're looking for, you might not need to have it full forward. even the plat dosnt need to be full forward, just play with things till you get it right. but definatly adjust your aneroid sounds like its setup in the stock location.
