What compounds go with???

So I am in the market for compounds and I am wondering what y'all would recommend for what I'm looking to do with my truck.

What I want:
I don't drive this truck daily but I want to be able to pull my 40' trailer loaded to 20,000 lbs. across the country if I have to. I also want to pull a sled with it at the county fair.
Looking to get 800hp+

What I already have done to my 2001 24v 2500:
Quadzilla Adrenaline Programer
150hp injectors
Hot Rod VP-44
ATS intake
ARP head studs
Snow water meth
NV5600 with south bend clutch
worn out 64mm turbo (hence why I'm looking to upgrade)
Banks Exhaust brake

One of the main things is that I want to keep the Exhaust brake.

800hp out of a VP is few and far between without NOS.

If you are dead set on 800 then P pump it or get a common rail. It sounds to me like you actually need a commonrail.

DZLNUTS:

First of all,.....Welcome to the website Sir!

DTR Member SuperDave is giving you good advice on the VP-44 Cummins Engine and fuel pump in your truck. Doing a "conversion" to a P-7100 Fuel Pump would make things alot easier.

But,....with that being said, I would recommend something like a 62/12 on top with maybe a Schwitzer S-480 on the bottom. On my 1996 Dodge CTD 12 valve, that is what I am running and while the top charger is a little smaller, I can still tow without too much problem. You can look at my signature to see where I am on H.P. and torque. There are also many guys running a 62/12 on top and an HT3B on the bottom which used to be a good combination a few years ago. My only concern for you (which Dave mentions)
is the fact that the VP-44 may not provide enough fuel to get you to your target of 800 H.P. without adding something like nitrous.

Good luck Sir!

Not entirely true, there have been several VP trucks above 900+rwhp, you just have to know how to do it. Been a few 1000+rwhp VP trucks.

The best that I've done personally with a stock SO pump (not spraying drugs) is 680rwhp, all fuel on a mustang dyno. Probably just as many VP 900+rwhp truck as there are 12mm P7100 trucks and just as much horsepower as many as stock single CP's. Dyno jet and big shot of NOS spray will equal some big ponies, not sure if its real world power. Lots of stuff will be broken during the process.

Typically trucks above 800+rwhp area don't have stock injection systems. Probably easiest way to make big power is to spray NOS and watch for carnage.

Mr. Holmen:

No disrespect to you Sir, but I disagree with your statement saying "Probably just as many VP 900+RWHP trucks as there are 12mm P-7100 trucks".........
If the VP-44 pumps were that good you would see more of them on the high end Dodge CTD Drag Race trucks. Right now, on the NHRDA Circuit almost ALL of the Dodge Pro-Street Trucks are running P-7100 fuel pumps! Granted, they are not 12mm pumps, but there not VP-44's either!

The fact of the matter is VP-44 pumps will NEVER flow the amount of fuel that a P-7100 pump will. I know, because I tried on my 2002 Dodge CTD.
Sure, you can get a VP-44 truck up to 800-900 H.P. but you have to add alot of nitrous to do it.

Been a long time since I've seen a 1000+rwhp P7100 truck on fuel. We had a group discussion here on it a few weeks ago. I know you can do it, but its not a stock 6bt pump hang on the few that historically done it. I think that Seth is the only nhrda pro street truck that I've seen, its darn fast, but to clarify its not running a stock 12mm 12 6bt dodge pump either. Most the pro-street trucks are CR trucks these days. Running two or three CP's.

Up here in the frozen north, I never seen 12V stock P7100 break 600rwhp barrier on fuel, seen more VP's and CR do that. Days dyno events break 1500rwhp, just have a chance to get a top three finish.

For an all out race/dyno queen trucks, there is no way that a stock VP44 can compete against a highly modified pump, its like comparing apples and oranges.

Mr. Holmen,....I just attended "Rudy's Diesel" Dyno and Drag Race Event in North Carolina about three weeks ago and here are the Dodge CTD Pro-Street Trucks that run at that event:

1.) Stuckey's 2WD Dodge CTD: P-7100 Pump
2.) Phil Taylors 4WD Dodge CTD: P-7100 Pump
3.) Darren Morrison's 4WD Dodge CTD: P-7100 Pump

Buck Spruill ran his very quick Chevy Duramax and Brian Jelich was there with his Ford 7.3 PSD. For your information there was NO VP-44 Dodge Trucks there! There was ONE Dodge CTD CR 2WD Truck.

You are just going to have to accept the fact that things here in the U.S. are different than in Canada in respect to diesel drag racing Sir!
