I went with Blue and Red for my motor in my White truck. It is in my Member Gallery under Painted Motor. It does make it easier to work on the motor to check for leaks and stuff.

how is the paint holding up around the exhaust ports on the head and on the hot side of the turbo? and if it is holding good, what kind of paint is that!! that is a pretty blue you got going for ya there. and has anyone done anything to that nasty breather to make it not blow oil all over the engine compartment and stuff??? i hate that breather, why didn't they do like ford and run it into the air intake or something

Well, I will admit that the exhaust ports and manifold have needed a touch up now and then. Depends upon if it is summer (many burnouts ) or Winter (Don't launch as hard to keep truck going straight). But usually I just grab a small paint brush in within 15 minutes, it is done. I first painted it with BBQ paint stuff (good for 1200 - 1500, so they say) and then painted over it the color of my choice. Color of paint is.... (oh god, you would ask), but Old Ford Blue. The newer ford blue just didn't look good. Hate putting FORD on the cummins but it does make it look nicer I think.
I have heard but don't have right now a NAPA paint that is a teflon or something that stays very well on hot motors. Read it here somewhere.

Behrman, I like that.
One of my buddies shaved the door handles on his truck (low rider S-10 but it sports a built 350) and he put, I like it Shaved on the top of the windsheild.

it wouldn't be too hard to polish the covers, i have polished aluminum before, and my first thought was cummins beige with polished covers and black pump and lines. the truck is a bottom of the line truck so red would look kinda gaudy maybe,.... but then again, i like denim and pearls
