What clutch can take the torque?

I have a first gen. My problem is Im starting to make some serious power.
I have a con-o, or ralley clutch, good up to 400 HP and 900 Lb Ft of torque.
Last dyno at 1700 RPM my clutch started slipping at 948 Lb Ft of torque. Hp never had a chance to come up, leveled at 329 HP.
I called ATS, they are a southbend dealer. I asked about the con FE. I was told it is good to 550 HP and 1100 Lb Ft of torque. At this point in time I am 152 torque away from too much for the con FE. I may have dynoed more torque and HP if the clutch held.
Is there a good clutch out there that can take more without costing me my first child for payment?

sounds like you are going to need a dual disc. the only bad thing about a dual disc is price. you can probably find one around $1500 but then you are going to have to buy a 1-3/8 billet input shaft for around $850. i would check the classifieds mabybe you can find a deal there.

A DD is probably the best solution...but if you have an NV5600 you don't need the heavier input...at least that's what Peter @ SBC told me

Good luck,
Chris

Tell Peter what you want...maybe the FE will handle it! I've heard they are pretty tough!

I have the fe and it is a good clutch but jumpy (especially reverse backing trailers) and I think the SB DD would be a better choice I would do it over again with a DD........ and will be as soon as I wear this bad boy out or find a buyer for it

One thing for sure buy a South Bend, for customer service alone if nothing else

Is the DD smoother than the FE?, How much noisier is it over the FE?, I'm in need of upgrading this summer to something more than the Con O, starting to slip with the new fuel plate. THanks for info,
Tim.
