what can I expect for milage with a chip?
I just bought a 2002 Dodge 2WD short bed and added the K & N cold air kit and cut out the huge muffler and put in a straight pipe and added the Edge 4400 plug and play module. In dead stock form coming back from Okla (where I bought the truck) at 75 mph on the cruise control I got 20 mpg on the nose. What will I see for milage now?

Wow,,,very Best I've Ever Gotten Is 17.9, Ok 18 Out Of My Stock Truck.
And That Was At 65mph.
But Just Added Mbrp And Waiting For Scotty, And Will Add Some Kind Of Chip In Next 4-6 Wks Before A Road Trip.
We'll See If These Helped/helps.

20 mpg is not bad at all for 75 mph with a heavy heavy truck. I have the stock exhaust, Edge EZ, RV 275 injectors, FASS II, 285's and the best I got when checking the mpg was 21.4 highway.

I tested my Superchips tuner on my truck.
My mileage was as follows for my daily commute, 50% hwy, 50% city, burning winter diesel (#1):
- Stock 17.5 mpg
- Superchips on high, K&N installed - 17.8 mpg
- Superchips on med, K&N - 17.8 mpg
- Superchips on low (tow safe) K&N - 17.8 mpg
I would hesitate to put mych stock in the 0.3 mpg difference as my testing wasn't "labratory scientific" or anything, so I wouldn't claim a difference unless it was more than 1 mpg.
I'd say the increase in fuel economy is a bust IMO. Having said that tho, getting extra power at the same economy is a huge bonus in my eyes.

Boxes like the EZ can add 1 to 2 mpg. But this depends on how you drive it, with a heave right foot you could loose fuel mileage. The Smarty programmer that is comming out has a fuel mileage programe in it.
After gauges a Smarty is my next add on.

now,,50k more miles on my truck and a EZ clip,,,i get 22-24 on highway at 1800 rpm.
seems when i go over 1800 ,, the mileage really drops off.
