Mike,
You don't list what weight your towing, but with twins you could go as high as Mach 4's. However, you'll be into watching your EGT's and turning down your Comp, on occasion.

IMO, twins, 1.6's and your Comp would be great, hassle and smoke free combo, with plenty of power for up to say, 10,000 lbs.

I didn't mention what i was towing, you are correct. Right now I have a 20' x 8' enclosed car trailer, and camper on my truck.
With the comp on 1x1, I am at about 900 deg doing 70 mph. If there is any hill, forget about it. I have to slow down, and drop into OD. That's just with the trailer, 2 dirt bikes in it, no camper on. I am always driving to the EGT guage.
Since I put the comp on its been like that. I hate it.
I know twins are the way to go.
If I am going to buy the 1.6's, I might as well get the 2.5's, right? I can pick a used set for the same or less than new 1.6's.
I want to be able to tow anything to the capacity of the truck. right now i can't even do that.

When I moved to WA after my first contract was up with the Corps, I had an EZ, 4" exhaust, stock tranny and guages. I towed combined weight truck and trailer (total weight 18060 lbs) from CA to WA and I had WAY more towable HP then, than I do now.

Anymore advice, ideas, recommendations?
I sent an email to PDW and they haven't replied yet.

You could unhook your pump wire and then you've got an EZ. Keep it on setting 2 or less and you are still in EZ mode even with the wire hooked up....maybe even on 3.....I can't remember. 2.5's may be some of Don's older injectors. 1.6's, 4's, and 6's are among newer models. The newer injectors are generally less smokey, more power, and idle smoother because of spray angle and what ever else Don does to them. I can't answer the question on the 2.5's but I know most use the 1.6's for strictly towing and if you want to step up there isn't really any reason to not jump on up to 4's. Either way you are going to need an aftermarket turbo when stepping up and I think they are the same price after you jump up.

Well, those numbers I posted are with the P-wire disconnected. It gets even hotter with the p-wire hooked up.
I think i will do the Mach 4's. It makes sense with the twins. I might still have to watch the EGT's but it will be more manageable with the Comp on a lower level. Am I wrong?
Will I need to do the studs, or if I stay under 45 psi will I be ok?
I will not keep the stock turbo. I will get 2 new ones when I get the kit.

Let me know what you think.
Thanks!

Keep the COMP on setting 1x1, and it "detunes" the truck 20 hp or so, makes Daily driving a bit easier with big sticks!

At least that's what I think I remember!

No you'll be in good shape with the 4's and the BD twins. I put studs in mine because I have an HO, but BD says you don't have to. They come preset for 50psi but it has an adjustable wastegate arm that you lower it if you want. If your box isn't up on 5x5, you'll be at or below 45 for the most part anyway.

Why do you think they are the best, and what is your application?
