What are the best twins for towing apps?

I am going to take the plunge for twins.

You can see in my sig what I have for Mods. I am not opposed to upgrading to the 1.6's, or Smarty though.

I am interested in a bolt on set with little or no tweaking, that will work best for towing. I don't do drags, or track pulls, and it is a daily driver.

Any additional work that would be beneficial with twins as well, please let me know.

Thanks!
Mike

BD twins are generally the consensus pick for towing twins. They do other things well, but towing is a strong suit. I've towed 15k with 155 hp injectors and no heat issues. You'll have plenty of room to add fuel if you wish. The M1.6's would be great with them, then add a Smarty and you'll have a towing king!

BD Twins are as good out of the box as anyone else's twins under 500hp...they go to 600hp fairly easily, and still run VERY well!

They were my towing twins of choice back when I ran them...I'd run them again if I had the need!

PDR sells a set they branded their "Towing Twins"
The only downside to them is you need to remove/relocate your trans heat exchanger but other than that they work awesome.
I beleive the BD ones allow you to retain the factory heat exchanger

I did look at the PDR set.
I know they take out the heat exchanger, so all I would need to do is get a bigger trans cooler, correct?

I've Rip's setup w/ a PDR35/12 on top and it would be a good towing setup... in OD, I can get 20psi out of it by about 1600rpm. egt's are nice and cool w/ DDP4's and a 215 pump

Correct, or relocate your heat exchanger.
I personally just got a bigger cooler but would like to reinstate the HE for the winter months as the temps in the winter dont let it warm up unless I'm in stop and go traffic.

take a look at pdw's twins. Thats who im going with. Doug will set you up with a sps62 and a s400/b2 hybrid and that will give you about 450-500 TOWABLE hp. Take that down to the low end of the hp range i just mentioned and you wont ever have to look at your pyro. And pullin a trailer with 500 hp is acually quite fun.

This is the set that doug has recommended for me. And i do tow quite a bit. Look at my gallery

If it's towing your using twins for, look around.... and then buy BD's. You won't find better, IMO.
Less lag than those with bigger bottom turbos and their kit is complete.... with pictures. Can leave your tranny heat exchanger and 4" exhaust as is! Computer designed by BD's engineers and perfectly matched so no tinkering or 'set up' adjusting required.
