What all does the TPS control?
My tranny has been acting up, and I cant figure out if its the TPS acting up or if it is going out. Im thinking its going out, but the fluid still doesent smell burnt, and it looks pretty good. Transmission shifts good under light to moderate throttle, but when it gets to overdrive, sometimes it wont lockup, and sometimes it will, and also when i let off of it in overdrive, sometimes it will just downgear to 3rd even going 60-70mph. Under hard throttle from a stop the last time i kicked it, it didnt seem to want to shift right. So, does the TPS also control the 1-2 and 2-3 shift or is it just the 3-4 shift, and lockup control. Any help would be appreciated.

hi
a tps is a 10 minute job to change and way less costly than a trans !
i would change the tps as it is doing what mine did with a bad tps !
even cheeper drill your tps and flush it with brake clean ! it worked for me !
got one from napa $200.00 lasted 4 mounths then reinstalled my cleaned old one and it works better than ever ?
napa gave me a new one i have in glove box just in case ?
