Thanks Marine, I had thought that it would be best to be as close to the turbo as possible. So I'm assuming that you just drill a hole and tap? Thanks

That's all you do. Drill and tap.

Re:What 4inch exhaust do you have?

Home brewed here.

4" came into being with the Dodge / Mopar 4" cat back, which replaced the stock muffler with a 12" resonator. When the CAT disappeared, things got too loud in the cab. I went thru a # of local shops until I found one that had the 4" mandrel bends & had it routed straight out the back, with a turn down.

Mucho quieter in the cab & the turn down keeps soot off the 5'er.

Dear DOOHAA,
Sorry to tell you this, but aggur pipe and flex doesn't make a exhaust sytem. That might work for you, and wear you are from. But in most places that wouldn't.

I'm running a Diesel Transmission Technology (DTT) turbo back system. Sounds nice, no drone, but really growls under load.

Chris O,

Take a look at our systems, welded hangers, Spiral Flow Mufler, 5 inch rolled edge tip etc etc.

Why not? It might not be pretty, but it does what an exhaust system is intended to do.

Here's my question.....excluding the muffler and whether it's aluminized or stainless, there is basically no difference between any of these systems, correct? I mean....4" pipe is 4" pipe...and pretty much everyone is doing it mandrel bent so that's not a factor either. Hangers are a plus...but can easily be fabricated on your own if necessary. So....especially if you're going straight pipe...why would it not make sense to find the absolute cheapest system you can buy as long as it's made of the materials you want? Why spend $300 more for 4" straight pipe system from one manufacturer when you can get the same system in the same materials from someone cheaper? Or why not just go to a good muffler shop and ask them to give you a 4" straight pipe and show them where you want it to come out? They could probably do it all in one piece...reducing the chance of leaks.

Re:What 4inch exhaust do you have?

I've got the Jannetty Racing 4" and I really like it. The hangers for the rear had to be wielded. I just installed the DPP 4" exhaust on a friend's truck and the installation was a breeze. All hangers fit perfectly and it comes with the chrome tip as part of the setup. The sound is really wonderful. That's what I would go with if I were doing it again.
I would also suggest that you mount your EGT probe pre-turbo in the manifold for more accurate readings.

Does anyone know if it's possible to "post" a sound file directly to the forum? I didn't think it could be done without a hosting site.
