Westin Nerf Bars

Has anyone had any problems with Westin's stainless steel nerf bars. I have a set that are less than six months old that are peeling and have spots of surface rust.

I have the Westin chrome bars, they have been on the truck 3 years and still look new. ;D

I too have the Westin CPS Platinum bars, and man they are cruddy right now with salt, and sand. But, there's no evidence of peeling. They're guaranteed for life against your symptoms. Are you sure you don't have the plated steel bars?

I've got the Platinum series (chrome over stainless) and have not problems after 6 months. If you see rust, I wonder if you got what you paid for. The rubber (plastic) step pads should have the word "platinum" on it somewhere.

Gary
I think they were the cheaper ones though, not the platinums like everyone else seems to have. I went with back country bars for my new truck, not a spec of rust or chipping anywhere! It's been a little over a year now.

Tony

I have had mine for at least 4 years. Beautiful. No problems. Did you wax them when they were put on. That is on the care slip in the box. Fine print. I read everything now days.

Re:Westin Nerf Bars

They are the Platinum Series. I've used Westin products before without any problems, so this kind of surprised me. I'll call the company and see what they say. I just wondered if anyone else was having a similar problem.
