Mine has been flawless too!

The Westach gauges look very OEM, suiting the factory gauges ... especially with the green light.

I have one too along with the combo boost/egt. Looks good with the green light. But its appears the sender is dying on me. Geno's is going to send me a new one when they get them in next week.

Question

Is it okay to mount the sending unit right to the top of the filter housing or should I get a tapped banjo fitting for the pump inlet? How do you guys have yours?

the pump inlet is a bad idea, too much pulsation from the pump. Get a tapped banjo and go onto the bottom of the filter

They have worked good for me.

How do you know your sender is dying?

I installed 2 sending units about 3 years ago, 1 pre-filter, 1 post. The sending unit that I put on pre-filter is still working great today. I went through about 3 sending units post-filter as they would start becoming VERY erratic within a month or 2. I finally gave up ran just pre-filter until installing the FASS pump.

I've never used a snubber, but both have always been on at least 18" extension hose. I don’t recommend running these sending units after the filter - like others have said, I think the pulsations of the VP44 are very damaging.

The 18" hoses are to tap into the fuel fittings and run to wherever you mount the sender. I have mine tied into a Vulcan fuel fitting right at the VP44. Mine has been in this way for almost a year with no issues (knock on wood).

The grease gun hoses dampens the pulses from the VP44 and Lift Pump.

...hoses dampens the pulses from the VP44 and Lift Pump.
There's the answer that I was looking for. I'm not sure how bad the pulsations will be with my HRVP and Holley Blue pusher, but I think that I will try the sending unit on the filter housing for starters. Seems like all the fuel in the filter housing would act something like a dampner, but then, what do I know...
Thanks for the input guys!

I've been running a Westach gauge for about 5 years. I've only had one sender failure (internal, started leaking).

I've always had the sender mounted remotely with an extension hose running from the fuel system back to the sender. Not only do I think the hose keeps the pulses from the IP down, it also isolates the sender from all the shaking of the engine. My gallery has some pics of how I rigged up my sender mount.

I have this gauge. I mounted the sending unit using one of the injector line bolts just above the injection pump. I used the grease gun hose and shrader valve fittings.
