Sled Puller over on the TDR was talking a while back about a guy who had his block repaired with something called lock stitch or some such thing. Might want to check it out if the crack is somewhere handy.

Lock-N-Stitch Website:
http://www.locknstitch.com/

Here's some examples of the process:

They appear to sell "kits" on their site, I'd contact them and perhaps they can offer you a kit with everything you need for the repair.

I have heard of cummins replacing the engines with new ones if they have under 125,000 miles on them. It would be worth a phone call to your nearest cummins shop to find out. If they say no, I would call a couple more cummins shops just to make sure.

I had a customer that was out of warranty and DC reimbursed him for all or most of the repair. I know he had to leap through some hoops, but he did get it paid for. He paid to have the repair done and DC ended up reimbursing him.

The only thing Cummins will do is replace all the hard parts that are not within specs. , the consumables such as oil and filters, and labor is not covered up to 150,000 miles. we did one not long ago that recieved everything except VP44 and he paid the labor and oil and filters.
