In the weeds ? how do you do it?

I have a 1999 3500 dually 2wd.
I would like to lower the front 2 inches and the back 4. With out going to a air ride system is there any other way to get this thing were it belongs?
Can you just chop the front springs? does anyone make a "KIT"?
And will the 3rdGen stock dually wheels bolt on? I have drum brakes in the rear.
Thanks

Im sure there is kits around. You just have to do some searching. I have personally seen Dodge rams lowered.
How about airbags and the frame notched?

call Summit and tell them what you got. i priced a Belltech kit for my 96 that consisted of springs for the front 2", and hangers and shackles for the rear 4".... it's a bit pricey as we are a niche market but that's the only one i can see that is reliable and nice that is a kit....

The only thing they said they had was for 1/2 ton. it would bolt on but not carry the weight.

People have been cutting coils for years. You may need shorter shocks. Start with one coil. get it realigned after you cut it.

fwiw, I cut all four coils on my "old" 91 Firebird Formula....the car then drove like it was on rails....that car was my Corvette !...lol.....it was safe for me for two years after I did it. Don't know where it is now.

I think as long as you cut the coils with a cut off wheel, you'll be ok. You don't wanna cut them with a torch cause the heat can change the temper of the spring and lead to problems. I've even seen Chip Foose do it on his Overhaulin' show with a cutoff wheel.

Still looking to solve that problem also. I think I will just build my own shackel kit. Cant be but 2 hours of work with some 1/4 plate.
