way too hot???

hello all.I HAVE A ,I think, stupid question about exhaust temps.I have a stock turbo and not stock injectors.I can reach 1500 degrees unloaded and if I dont keep a close eye on the pyro I can reach it real fast. My concern is that any time I do see such high temps its only for a small moment and then I let off,but how long can I run temps like this before I blow somthing up or melt somthing down???How do these guys do the tractor pulls with their CTD and not have a problem???Am I just being a wimp or is this a major no no to see a temp that high??? Any response is greatly welcome.

It's time for a new turbo. Your pistons won't last at that temp very long. Anything over 1350 for an extended length of time is very bad.

Quick question. How long have you had your PE pump?

What kind of boost do you run?
I'd check for leaks of the intercooler boots- boost elbow in place? Wastegate working?

AlpineRAM

p.s. Pulling contests consist of pulling sleds and pulling engines

Also, the pulling trucks run that hot, or hotter, for 10-15 seconds at a time, then long cool down periods.

Same with the drag trucks, they often see temps over 1500 for the 10-15 seconds they are flooring it.
Again, short duration, long cool down.

Short Burst of high EGT ( 1500 range) is not going melt anything down. Long hauls with a trailer I dont like EGT over 1350 range.

IN your altitude the EGT will rise faster than at sea level of course, but you should be able to control it with your foot...even towing heavy!

I run insane EGT but only for short burst periods. A few seconds. Never sustained.

1500 with your set up is common with a hard run.
Of course a little Dodgezilla turbo would really help. A few guys sell them, they are very affordable, and really help EGT. Slightly more power too!

THANK YOU GUYS VERY MUCH FOR THE INFO(my keyboard is on its way out so im sorry about thE CAPS) any way the longest i ever see the temps that hot is at 36 psi of boost and wot for only 2 maby 3 seconds.I was wondering if i could do a full 1/4 mile race at these temps or is that out of the question?By the way don i love my injectors.

The pe 4200 has been problem free for 4 months now and i would highly recommend getting one to replaced th stock lift pump.
