Can I run water/methanol with a 70psi water pump? I'm pretty much stock except for a Superchips 3705. Boost still tops out at OEM 28 psi or so. I've got a lot of methanol sitting around and want to run it on the highway under little or no boost and also for blowing black smoke at riceburner drivers on the phone at stoplights. Also, does this setup work with a 625 nozzle? Any recommendations on nozzles (external mount SS?). I just want to run a simple on/off with a solenoid or something..... I figure water injection worked in my Harrier for a nice power boost and now I can try it out in my 4 wheel oil burner. Of course we only got 90 seconds of water burn with 500# of water....

My guess is that your 40psi differential is not going to be suffiecient to properly atomize your water/meth mix

 

be really careful with water/meth without an upgraded head gasket and studs. The extra pressure can cause the OE one to pop.

 

Thanks, a little more research is in order....

 

There's a budget water/meth kit on sale in the DTR shop - all you have to do is supply a tank... at $300 the price is right for what most folks need.

 

Pump not designed for Alcohol could be problem. Also, probable not enough presure.
