Water/Meth Controller

Blue - I think you could live with the "all at once" hobbs set up, from a feel point of view. Even with 50% Racing Meth, and WOT, It's just not that big a hit.... but I might worry about very rapid cylinder pressure increase. Just don't know, cause all I've ever had was the Stage 2. But no body I know has had a problem with the gradual ramp up.... and there is the potential for detenation with meth in a diesel engine.
Hate to be the one that found out there WAS a problem.![Frown](https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Just being overly cautious.... but that philosophy may be best as hp levels get over 500 hp??

I tried some smaller tires for drag racing and they would break loose easily on the street,, getting to the track! After that experience...I'm glad I don't have to worry much about it

Regular Washer Fluid = 20% Meth
Winter Washer Fluid = 30% Meth
Note: It's not listed on bottles, but these percentages have been posted here for several yrs with no one disagreeing! I've never done analysis on either so am trusting what I've read.

You've got the same concern that I do rowland. The rapid increase in cylinder pressure causes a lot of strain on parts. Namely headgaskets. And I definately need help with these EGT's. I'm gonna up the boost from 38 to 45psi tonight. It ain't much but every little bit helps. With the COMP my egt's get VERY hot VERY rapidly. From a 55mph roll, by the time I hit 75mph I'm on the peg.

with my water meth on.. at 100% gain, and both the big nozzles that come with the kit installed.. if i drag race.. i can still hit just under 1600 degrees by the time i hit 100 MPH.. this is with water meth on full 100% injection from about 45 MPH onward.. if i don't turn it on at all.. i peg that 1600 degree pyro quick and it stays pegged the whole way to 100..

buying 100% meth and mixing yourself.. you can do that.. but you don't get any cooling/extra power from a mix of more than 50% meth actually 49% meth/51% water is the ideal power mix.

Talked to Nate, at Snow's on another matter, and learned some interesting stuff.
1-They have a 3rd gen with stage two... 220 psi pump (bigger pump... standard for diesels) and big nozzles (625's) and get 100 hp gain from 75% Meth. They feel there are no concerns at that level???? My hand would be shaking to badly to turn the injection system on if I had 75% meth![Smilie](https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
2-The higher the boost you run, the less HP you get!! With 2 nozzles on a 220 psi pump, each nozzle gets 110 psi pressure. In my case each nozzle is fighting 65 psi boost (resistance) in my air horn. Therefore, less H2O/meth injected and possible poorer atomization. This would perhaps explain why I only get 40-50 hp from the Snow's system?
Also might explain why, on WOT runs, the EGT's don't drop way down till you back out of the throttle a bit??
I going back to injecting earlier (lower boost) for both 'Start Up' and 'Full', and probably running 50% racing meth all the time. Costs me $80-$90.00 to mix 10 gal at 50-50%. That's a lot of racing
