do you still have to take the whole thing apart if you are going to drill it?

As fast as the turbine spins I most definately would. You ever see something get sucked through a fan, makes a mess of it. But that's just me you might be fine but I feel it's a too risky.

One thing you gain with partition removal is more flow through the turbine hsg. You increase the A/R of the hsg so I been told which makes sense. I noticed quicker spool. I think effectively I turned my housing into like a 13cm or so hsg, maybe even more who knows. I do know that it does flow more and now with the big compressor installed that makes things flow better than a stock 12cm. With the build you're gonna have I'd take out the partition to the leading edge of the waste gate hole and no further, I think you'll be impressed. But if I were you do it after you get the injectors installed so you can see the difference it will make in spool, boost control and smoke comparison.

Stupid question time!, if I drill the hole in the divider from the waste gate, does it have to be the same size? can it be smaller? not a lot but I dont have a bit quite that big!, 2. can I do both, drill the wall, and grind back the divider aways too? and 3. do you hook your wastegate back up if you ran the line plugged on it before modifying?

1) I've heard that just drilling a 1/2" will get you wastegate control. I would think it would all depend on anticipated fuel levels. Big injectors big dv's hot plate = bigger hole

2) If you do both it might cause turbulence, no need to do both do one or the other.

3) yes, and put a bleed valve in line so you can fine tune where you want your gate to open at

gotcha!!!, I got a hole drilled already, its not as big as the first hole, but I think I can get it there, just got to go to the shop I work at and get a bigger bit. I run enough fuel thru it, as I got the 370s, so every little bit will help!, I syre like my hx35 with the 12cm housing, it spools up so nice!, I opted to go bigger,I run a 14cm housing on another hx right now, just doing this modd to my spare turbo. I also have a schwitzer turbo in the size equal to a 50 or a 55, that I got for sled pulling or for a twins setup, that I could use a little help on Identifieing what it is, I tried a couple diferent sights, but they were not very helpfull!, I just got to much time on my hands in the winter monthes!!!lol

Now remember just because you drill it doesn't mean you can't grind out the divider all the way up through the top of the hole you drilled. Let me tell you the housing I do (my Dad's) I'm gonna drill a hole through it first just to get rid of that much more material that I don't have to grind out! Plus when you drill it firsat it gives you a good guide to grind to. Once you grind through the drilled hole smooth out hte edges and you're done, all the way to the leading edge of the w/gate hole that way.

Check out this thread and in the post of pictures look at the bottom one that's a good example of grinding up to the leading edge or the top of the w/gate hole:https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ad.php?t=89525
