Wastegate blocking

Hello
I have a friend with a 95 Dodge A/T torque convertor and valve body installed, BD fuel plate, 191 D/V's, 40 HP injectors. He seems to have a problem that the wastegate is blowing open or possibly a compressor surge type problem. He has been told to block off the turbo and disable it. I think a turbine housing or a different trubo might be a better way to go, any ideas ?

Yes just weld the waste gate shut. I have 288K miles on my truck & the waste gate has always been locked down. He will like the extra boost.

what kind of boost is he getting? get a boost elbow to control the boost. dont block it. with 191 and injectors he'll probably be able to over spool the turbo

It is probably time to get a turbo that will handle the extra boost and power, anybody have any suggestions on which manufacturer to use ?
