Your not going to hurt any thing at that boost level. The stock head gasket will take close to 45psi and you shouldnt hurt your hx35 as long as you keep it under 40psi. That turbo really doesnt do much for you over 35psi of boost however.

From experience, keep the boost 40 or less on a stock gasket and don't lug the engine to puff the smoke, either can take out the gasket and or head. Running those plates you should be making 35-37 lbs at least with the gate blocked. Blocking the gate helps as long as you keep the rpm moderate. High rpm with lots of throttle will overspeed the turbo and the turbo becomes an exhaust restriction. Your egt's will get high quick at high rpm. Don't waste your money on a housing, they don't help much, well enough to justify the cost. I have two on the shelf. If you need more air to stay cool get a turbo.

Egt's are getting towards the hot area. You might start to burn at that head gasket. The valve seats don't like get to hot. All replacable stuff. You running stock head bolts? What torque you at? 33 psi is still pretty low, you still have lots of smoke I'm sure. You might have a boost leak somewhere. Fix that you should drop egt's. I ran 37psi out a HY35 turbo for a few years, yes it was toasty, but it did survive.

140hp injectors on a stock turbo? you have to black out a road at wot right? and a blocked wastegate only getting to 33psi... i can get 40 with stock injectors, something doesn't sound right and if you had a big boost leak, your egt's would be way higher than 1150. is your probe pre or post turbo?

140 hp injectors with a stock turbo is imo useless. You cant use the fuel you have. i would get a bigger turbo that has enough air to take care of the fuel instead of bandaiding it with plugin the wastgate

You running a box or programer? I've seen bigger sticks in truck, run on the HX-35. It doesn't last to long, if you run on kill lots. What color is the compressor housing? Its only parts, it can be replaced with a bigger turbo. I would run those on minimum power levels for booting around town with. For dynodays or drag racing, bring a NOS bottle and see what you spin.

im sure mike assumed you had a 24v and didnt read your sig just went by what others had said in previous posts... but like all the others said you should have higher boost numbers and keep it at or below 40psi. are you looking to get a new turbo and just waiting for funds?

kinda both at the moment, im playing around with the idea of building my own home grown twin setup with a hx 52, or whatever semi-truck turbo i can find for under 300 bucks if i can make a twin setup for 1/10 of a kit im all for it i would spend the money i saved and get me a good set of head studs
does any one have a home grown twin setup, if so what was the hardest part of the build?
